The mission of the Historical Society of Salisbury Township is to discover, gather and preserve local history for future generations.
We are excited and pleased to announce that the long-awaited and much anticipated book, "CIVIL WAR VETERANS WHO LIVED IN
OR WERE BURIED IN SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA" is now in the process of being published and will be for sale soon! This is a very unique book written to honor the Civil War Soldiers who lived in or were buried in Salisbury Township. The 569 page book is tentatively scheduled to go on sale in March!
Chapters of the book include Union Veterans, A Union Veteran/Confederate Veteran, Confederate Veterans, Patriots, The Home Front, as well as an Appendix of Salisbury Township Civil War veterans and their units. There are 439 full biographies, as well as photos, transcribed newspaper articles and letters.
