The mission of the Historical Society of Salisbury Township is to discover, gather and preserve local history for future generations.
You are invited to join us on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the historic White Chimneys Estate! Meet Alfred L. Brown, Alfred Carl Paul Gerhardt, Jr. and Joan M. Lorenz, authors of “Civil War Veterans Who Lived in or Were Buried in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.”
The collaborative project began in the fall of 2011 and was completed in October of 2018. The book will be available for purchase on site, as well as our other historical society publications. This very unique 569 page book was written to honor the Civil War Soldiers who lived in or were buried in Salisbury Township. There are 439 full biographies, as well as photos, transcribed newspaper articles, letters and more! A list of the names can be found here:
